Content that is not a page is given the name media; examples of media include Microsoft Word documents, Adobe PDF files and images. This is another area, which as a contributor you will use to add non-textual content to the site, and is area we will look through now, we must remember however that as with all of the features within iCM, sufficient privileges are required to be able to create new media.

Some media such as Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF files will be displayed as items that can be downloaded. However image media will be normally be displayed within the article body text however this may vary due to the design specifications of the website. The location of the media is determined once again by individual specifications and design ideals of the website, looking to the template for placement information.

The image on this page has been located on the left hand side of the text due to the specifications on the template.  The template has also determined the size of the image and has allowed the text to be wrapped around the image.
