Importing Documents

Introduction

A lot of the time content is stored in the desktop, in the way of a word document for example. With the ability to import documents in word format document, all of the text that is placed in that document can then be seen on the page. For many users this ability will be the main way of adding text content to a site.

1. Create an article in iCM using a relevant template, Default for example

  • Log into iCM
  • Select iCM explorer or 'start work'
  • Select content > Articles
  • Choose an appropriate parent article and create a new article
  • Select default template as the template type.

2. In the 'Actions' panel to the left of the screen select import a document. In the WYSIWYG editor there are icons that are placed along the top of the page. This icon is of a page of paper with an arrow going through it.

3. A pop up should appear. When this does then use the browse button to navigate top the document that you want. Select the document that you want  click 'open' and 'ok' to import the text into the editor window.

Once this has been done, then the text should be placed into the body of the article. You are now able to edit this content however you wish. When the document is to your satisfaction then 'Submit this article'
